Virtual Eye at the Red Bull Air Races in Abu Dhabi

It’s not every day that someone from Dunedin is operating computer graphics in Abu Dhabi (UAE) but that’s exactly where Paul Sharp (Senior Developer and Director of Animation Research Ltd) was in early March 2006.



Although the actual races are against the clock the ARL technology allowed multiple races to be overlayed on each other, creating a virtual head-to-head race. ARL are currently working towards providing this same functionality to all of the Red Bull Air Races in 2006, the next one being early May in Barcelona.
