Colossal Squid

05 Jul 2010

The mere mention of the Colossal Squid conjures up images of a fierce sea monster toiling with a doomed fishing vessel. Little was known about this mysterious and elusive creature until, in 2007, the largest recorded specimen was captured by a New Zealand fishing boat off Antarctica. Using the knowledge gained while studying this captured creature, ARL were asked to create a 5 minute animation using stereoscopic 3D technology to immerse the viewer in the mysterious world inhabited by the colossal squid.
