July 2015 Update - Follow the Louis Vuitton America's Cup World Series with the next generation of the America’s Cup Official App, featuring on board cameras, video extras, social chat and behind-the-scenes storytelling.
May 2014 Update - The 35th Sports Emmy Awards took place on May 6th in New York City - The America’s Cup Official App went head-to-head against apps created for the PGA Tour, the National Collegiate Athletic Association and the NFL... and won!
The America’s Cup Official App developed by Animation Research Ltd, for iOS and Android, has been nominated for the 35th Sports Emmy Awards happening in New York on the 6th of May. The app has been nominated under a new category, "Outstanding New Approaches - Sports Event Coverage".
The Official App allowed users to follow the racing live with multichannel video, the Virtual Eye interactive race viewer or text based updates. Users could also select from several audio streams in the live leader board view, including commentary, or on-board audio from each of the competing teams. The AC social feed built into the app allowed users to post comments, chat and interact with event media and officials.
