The Toitū Otago Settlers Museum re-opened on December 8, marking the completion of the museum's $37.5 million redevelopment. The museum has been extended with a new building and the refurbishment of an old railways depot, doubling its gallery space. Innovative displays and interactive technology bring the Toitū Otago Settlers Museum into the modern day. Upon entering the museum proper from the foyer, one is greeted with an audio-visual presentation created by Animation Research Ltd.
