Animation Research Limited is one of Australasia’s leading computer graphics production facilities, turning digital data into pictures. ARL was founded in 1989, and since then the company has won numerous national and international awards for its work in computer generated television commercials, and has also developed award winning applications used for education and entertainment. The ARL CG team includes 2D artists, 3D modelers, shader/lighting specialists, graphic software developers and IT systems specialists.

In 1991 ARL developed the first ever real time yachting graphics package for the Americas Cup, and in 2006 they did the same for gliding at the New Zealand Gliding Grand Prix. ARL's sporting division, Virtual Eye, is now a leader in real time sports graphics for television and big screen broadcast, including live to air golf coverage, Formula One and Cricket.

ARL builds photo-realistic 3D dataset visualization applications for clients in the project development, engineering, training and medical visualization industries. ARL also developed the award-winning Total Control Air Traffic Control Simulator,with ‘Full world’ modeling of airspace and operational jurisdictions, allowing simultaneous instruction across multiple suites.
